Alia Xu

Alia joined BCYC as a brand ambassador to advocate for the voices of youth across the province. In addition to being an ambassador, she is also a blog writer, where she writes about various topics and current world issues. She lives in Richmond and is currently in Grade 11. At her school, she is involved in theatre, music, leadership and cheerleading. Alia is also very passionate about community service, journalism, and marketing. She enjoys binge-watching Netflix shows and spending time with her friends and family.

Leona Lam

Leona is new to BCYC and has joined to create meaningful change regarding significant issues in our community, such as mental health, gender equality, climate change and systematic racism, to name a few. As a blog writer, she is passionate about using her voice on this platform to influence a positive ripple effect to inspire all students and adults in the BC community. She is excited to get working on even a larger scale and making the world a better place, starting with our youth’s voice, ideas, and passions. Leona lives in Vancouver and is going into the grade 10 prelude program. She enjoys burning in the heat during beach volleyball, falling off bikes during bike rides, spending too much money while shopping and being a mean bossy older sister.

Ekamjot Pooni

Ekamjot joined BCYC to promote youth empowerment in the province and make a difference by advocating our voices. As a Brand Ambassador, she focuses on sharing the BCYC platform and encouraging others to join the program. She is ecstatic to join the blog team as she would like to pursue a career in journalism. She lives in Surrey and is currently in grade 12. She is enrolled in multiple high school sports teams, and leadership and music program. Ekamjot’s hobbies include networking with new people, travelling, and reading.

Saudah Gazi

Saudah joined BCYC as a Brand Ambassador to be a part of a community of motivated youth passionate about community involvement. She’s in grade 11 and goes to school in Burnaby. Saudah is part of her school’s volleyball team and is an executive member of her school’s WE Council, where she plans events and campaigns to raise awareness at her school. In her free time, Saudah loves reading, playing volleyball, and hiking.

Simone Saini

Simone recently joined BCYC to advocate and highlight the issues and struggles experienced by youth in the province. As a Brand Ambassador, she represents BCYC by using her social media platforms to spread awareness of different events and opportunities that benefit youth. Simone is currently a Grade 12 student enrolled in her school’s French Immersion program. She serves as the co-executive of her school’s debate club, a diversity chair for their student council, and a peer tutor for their Math Tutorials program. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at Surrey Crime Prevention Society, practicing Taekwondo, and observing the stars and planets through her telescope.

Grace Chhabra

Grace Chhabra is a grade 11 student attending North Delta Secondary in Delta, BC. She joined BCYC to help the youth with mental health issues and protect the environment. As the brand ambassador of BCYC, Grace is responsible for contacting school clubs and maximize impact and promote BCYC with other organizations. She enjoys learning different languages like Korean, French, etc. At her school, she has been associated with many community services and picked up experience working with youngsters as math, dance, and an English tutor.
